The length is perfect for wearing under a dress in hot weather. If it's small, you'll still fall and scrape your knees, so the 6/4 length is useful.

I thought it was a thin mesh-like fabric, but it's actually a little thicker (although it's light). It can be used from early spring to early fall. I think it might feel a little hot in midsummer.
